Study, Take Action, Improve

Updated: Apr 17, 2021

Yesterday was one of those quiet Sundays with a nice thunderstorm outside. I spent most of my day watching church in the morning, NCAA basketball, reading, and doing some homework.

I don’t study basketball anymore, but I realized most of what I do on a daily basis is study. It’s not usually for the purpose of obtaining a degree although sometimes it is (school work). Most of the time, I’m studying how to be a better person, or how to fulfill my goals in life, whether it be studying a skill, reflecting on my thoughts, behaviors, attitudes, decisions, or just seeking information about something I was curious about.

I want to encourage everybody to take some time each day for introspection, self-reflection, reading, and watching videos, all for the purpose of personal, spiritual, and professional development.

Most importantly, don’t just stop there! Write down your thoughts, take notes, set goals and set reminders to yourself to take action on the insights that you experience. This will be the start of discovering how great you really are. Celebrate when you come across things you don’t like about yourself. Celebrate the fact that you were able to look so deeply, and now you have an opportunity to make small changes and adjustments to improve. Have a great day!
